Um Base

Plan a video on Plus

Um Out Plus adds six views to Um Base. Two of them work today — projects, and Um Bot for brainstorming and title scoring. The other four need a connected YouTube channel, which does not exist yet, so they are empty rather than full of example numbers.

These are Plus only. On the trial or on Local they are not part of your plan and Um Base leaves them out of the page entirely. Your account and settings stay open either way.

Projects

A project is one video: a working title, a stage and a target date. Add one from the Projects view and it appears there and on the dashboard.

  1. Open Projects in Um Base.
  2. Type a working title. The stage defaults to Planned; the target date is optional.
  3. Choose Add project.
Projects are stored in the browser you created them in. There is no server behind them yet, so they do not sync between your computers, they do not appear in the Premiere panel, and clearing your browser data removes them. Do not keep anything here you cannot afford to lose.

Brainstorming

Give Um Bot a subject, a question, or a video you want a follow-up to, and it answers from what you typed.

  1. Open Brainstorm.
  2. Type a direction, up to 2000 characters.
  3. Choose Ask Um Bot.

It works from your words alone. It cannot see your channel until YouTube can be connected, and it will not pretend otherwise.

Title scoring

The Titles and thumbnails view takes candidate titles, one per line, or a subject to get some, and Um Bot responds to what you give it. The same 2000-character limit applies.

Thumbnail review is switched off rather than half-working. Reviewing an image means sending it to a vision model, which needs its own explicit per-file consent and its own published allowance. Neither exists yet, so it does not quietly use anything.

It is the same Um Bot

This is the assistant from your Premiere panel, reached from a browser instead. The key that pays for it never reaches your browser: the request carries your session, and the account service authorises and sends it on.

Using Um Bot in Um Base does not consume one of the two computers on your licence. Um Base is not an activated computer, and asking a question here never creates one.

Requests are rate limited. Ask several in quick succession and you may be asked to wait a moment before the next one; nothing is charged for a request that is refused.

The views that are empty, and why

The dashboard, the channel profile and the performance review all describe your channel, and Um Base has no way to read it. There is no YouTube connection, so those views show an empty state and say what would fill them.

They are deliberately empty rather than populated with an example. A number on your own dashboard reads as your number, and none of these would be.

Connecting a channel needs a Google API audit and a verification process on timelines we do not control, so there is no date for it here.
