Um Base
Plan, computers and settings
Everything that used to live on the Um Out account page is now in Um Base, under Account and Settings at the bottom of the sidebar. Both are open on every plan, including the free trial, and whatever state your plan is in.
umout.ai/account.html forwards to Um Base and carries anything after it, so a checkout return or a link from one of our emails lands in the right place.Your plan
The Account view opens with your current plan, what access it includes, and its status. If a period is ending you get the date and how long is left, rather than only a date to work out for yourself.
Underneath are the actions that apply to you: starting a checkout if you are on the trial, or opening the billing portal if you already subscribe. Invoices, cards and cancellation all live in that portal, which is run by Stripe and opens in the same tab.
Your computers
An Um Out licence covers two computers on every plan, including the trial. The Account view lists the ones in use with their platform, the Um Out version they are running and when each was last used.
- Open Account in Um Base.
- Find the computer you no longer use. The last used date is there to tell two similarly named machines apart.
- Choose Remove. The slot is freed immediately and the list refreshes.
- Activate the replacement from the Um Out panel on that machine.
Opening Um Base in a browser does not use a slot. It is not an activated computer, and nothing you do here costs you one of the two you paid for.
Your password
Under Settings, a new password must be at least 12 characters. A short sentence beats a short scramble.
Changing it here does not sign out your activated computers. Their licence is separate from this login, so your panel keeps working.
If you created your account with Google or Microsoft, the form offers to set a password instead, which adds email sign-in alongside the provider you already use. It does not replace it.
Microsoft sign-in
You can connect a personal or work Microsoft account as another way to sign in. It appears in Settings only where Microsoft sign-in is configured, so if you do not see it, it is not available rather than broken.
Download your data
Download my data gives you everything we hold about the account as a JSON file: your email address, your plan, and the computers you have activated. It never includes your password, and it cannot include your footage or transcripts, because those never reach us.
The file is built in your browser from the response, so nothing is staged on a server waiting to be forgotten about.
Delete your account
Because of that, it asks you to type DELETE to confirm rather than showing an OK button. A misclick on a button labelled Delete is not something support can reverse afterwards.
Signing out
Sign out at the bottom of the sidebar. It ends the browser session; it does not deactivate any computer. Signing out in one tab signs you out of the others.
If Um Base will not load
Um Base is served from the same deployment as the main site under a different address, so if that address is having trouble the same workspace is reachable at umout.ai/base/app.html. Use it to reach billing if you ever need to. Projects are stored per address, so a project list created on one will not appear on the other.
If the account service itself cannot be reached, Um Base says so and shows nothing rather than guessing. Your panel keeps working while that is sorted out.
