How the 7-day free trial works

The trial unlocks every Um Out tool so you can test it on your own footage before paying. There is no credit card required and no footage cap. It ends 7 days after activation.

Starting your trial

After you install Um Out and open the panel in Premiere, start the trial in one of two ways:

  • Choose Account, create or sign in to your Um Out account, and activate this computer.
  • Or just try a tool that is not unlocked yet. The trial offer appears automatically.

Your 7 days begin only when the first computer is activated. Every feature is unlocked immediately, with nothing hidden behind an upgrade prompt during the trial.

The trial is meant for your real projects. Run it on the kind of footage you actually edit so the result reflects your workflow, not a demo clip.

When the trial ends

The trial uses one simple limit:

  • 7 calendar days from activation. This is wall-clock time and keeps ticking whether or not you edit.

During those 7 days, analyze as much footage as you need to judge Um Out on your real workflow.

Checking how much trial is left

Press Open account & billing in the panel, under Account & license, or go straight to the account page. Both land in the same place: your plan, the date the current period ends, and the computers you have activated. The panel does not show the countdown itself; it sends you here.

What happens when the trial ends

When the 7 days end, the tools lock, but nothing changes in your existing projects. Edits you already applied stay exactly as they are, because they are ordinary Premiere clips, graphics, and keyframes. You simply cannot run new Um Out operations until you add a license.

Ending the trial never touches your timeline. If a project looks different, it is not because the trial expired. Reopen the sequence and check your own edit history.

Moving to a paid license

When you are ready, pick the plan that fits how you want to use the AI:

  • Um Out Local: $29 once. Unlimited local tools, and you can connect your own API key for AI features. No subscription.
  • Um Out Plus: $5.99/month, or $49 billed yearly. Everything in Local plus hosted AI with no key setup, and a 10-hour monthly analysis allowance. Local processing stays unlimited.

To upgrade, sign in to the account portal, choose a plan, and return to the panel. The companion refreshes a signed device license automatically; there is no license key to copy into Premiere. Your existing work and settings carry straight over. See the full breakdown on the pricing section.

Common questions

Do I need a card to start?

No. The trial only asks for an email so it can send your access and reach you if there is an issue.

Can I use the trial on two computers?

One trial belongs to one account, and the account supports up to two active computers. The 7-day clock begins with the first activation and is shared by both.

Activation is not completing

Confirm you are online, sign out and back in, and check the account portal for an old computer using a device slot. If it still fails, use the support chat or email us.
