Your computer will warn you about this file. Here is why.
Um Out is not code-signed yet. Code signing is a certificate that tells Windows and macOS which company published a file; ours is in progress. Until it is issued, both systems treat the installer as software from a publisher they have never met.
On Windows
A blue box: “Windows protected your PC.” Click More info, then Run anyway. The publisher line will read Unknown publisher, which is what unsigned always says.
On macOS
A message about an unidentified developer. Ctrl-click the file and choose Open, or go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
What that warning is not: it is not a virus alert, and nothing has scanned the file and found something in it. It is a statement about reputation. It would appear for a perfectly good build on its first day and disappear for a bad one that had been downloaded enough times, which is why we do not want you to rely on it either way.
What to rely on instead: the SHA-256 checksum listed with each download. Run one command, compare the fingerprint, and you know your copy is byte-for-byte the file we built. The commands are here. If your fingerprint does not match, do not install it — tell us.
Download Um Out from this page or your account page only. We do not distribute it through download portals, mirrors or advertisements, so an Um Out installer found anywhere else is not one we made.
