    Keep the screen and voice legible

    Make sure the track you analyse is the voice track rather than a mix with system audio in it. A clean signal means the proposed cuts are about speech, not about whether the demo app made a noise.

    Cut the waiting, keep the thinking

    Remove the stretches where nothing is happening (loading, typing, searching a menu) and keep the pauses after you introduce a new idea. That gap is doing pedagogical work, and a viewer needs it to catch up.

    Tidy the hesitations

    Live explanation produces a lot of ums, and they are more distracting in instruction than in conversation, because a learner is already at capacity. Take out the hesitation sounds and leave the phrasing.

    Captions matter more on a tutorial than on most video, because technical terms are exactly the words people mishear. Correct the terminology in the transcript, then check that text never covers the part of the screen you are pointing at.

Is it cheaper than a per-video captioning service?

Will it cut the pause after I explain something?

Yes. Your settings persist in the panel, so lesson two starts where lesson one left off. Each lesson still gets its own review pass, because each recording is different.

Does it work on screen recordings with no camera?

Yes. The analysis is on the audio, so a screencast with voiceover works the same as a talking head. The cuts are applied to whatever picture is linked to that audio.

Is it accessible for students who need captions?

Captions are created as timed clips on your timeline, so you control placement, contrast and line length, and you can keep text clear of the area of the screen you are demonstrating in.
