Um Out is a Premiere Pro panel plus a companion app that runs on the editor's
own computer. Nothing that reads footage is metered on any plan, because it
runs locally rather than on our servers.

## Questions

**Do I need a credit card to start the trial?**
No. The 7-day trial asks for an email address and nothing else. There is no card on file, so there is nothing to cancel and no way to be charged by forgetting about it. When the seven days are up the trial simply stops working, and every project you edited with it stays exactly as you left it.

**What do I actually get during the free trial?**
Three tools: the quiet gap remover on its basic controls, the filler word cleaner, and captions. They run on your computer with no footage limit for the full seven days, on up to two machines. Um Bot and the advanced silence controls are not part of the trial.

**Is Local really a one-time payment?**
Yes. $49 buys the local editing tools on two computers, and it covers every v1 update. There is no renewal date and no second invoice. We do not promise free upgrades beyond v1, because that is a promise we could not keep honestly.

**What happens if I cancel Plus?**
The hosted AI switches off at the end of the period you paid for. If you also own Local, the local editing tools keep working exactly as before, because that licence is yours. If you only ever had Plus, the tools stop when the subscription does.

**Does Um Out upload my footage?**
No. Audio analysis for silences, filler words and captions runs on your computer. Um Bot sends a text description of your project (clip names, timings, the transcript you chose to include) and shows you what that is before it sends anything. Video and audio files never leave your machine.

**What is the 10 hours of AI analysis a month?**
It is the allowance for hosted Um Bot requests on the Plus plan, measured against the footage those requests analyse. The local editing tools are not metered at all: you can run silence removal on a hundred hours a month on any paid plan without touching the allowance.

**Can I use my own API key instead of paying for Plus?**
Yes. Local includes the bring-your-own-key path, so you can connect an OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini account and pay that provider directly. Plus exists for people who would rather not manage a provider account at all.

**Do you offer regional pricing?**
Yes. Prices are banded by country income and the site quotes your local price automatically. You do not need a code and there is nothing to apply for.

**How many computers can I install on?**
Two, on every plan including the trial. That is the normal desk-and-laptop case. Moving a licence to a replacement machine is handled from your account page.

**Do you have a plan for teams?**
Yes. Um Out Teams is $109 a seat per year with a minimum of three seats. Every editor gets everything in Plus on two computers, billed on one invoice with one renewal date, and the hosted AI allowance is pooled across the team at ten hours per seat per month, so one editor having a heavy week does not cost anyone else theirs. Purchase orders are accepted.

**Is there a refund policy?**
Yes, and the trial exists so you rarely need it: you can run the real tools on your real footage for seven days before paying anything. The refunds page sets out the terms.
